Child Sponsorship – Artem Oreschenko

Child ID: 42190 Ukraine – Artem’s mother Oksana was in the Mercy Projects program long ago. She has been to many camps run by Mercy Projects. Many yearsago there was a church in their house where they lived, in a small village Fedorivka, near Ivankiv. Ivankiv is sadly known as a Chernobyl Zone .

Artem lives now in Ivankiv in his family of six people in a small house with three rooms. The boy has two sisters – Lyudmila, who is eleven years old and Anna, who is three. His father works as a packer at the bread company and his mother is a house wife. The oldest member of the family is Artem’s great- grandmother who has severe senile dementia and who can not be left alone. And it happened so that Artem’s mother is taking care of her, she is her guardian.

Artem and his sister Lyudmila go to Ivankiv Christian center “Evening High School for Teenagers” supported by Mercy Projects. The purpose of the center is to promote all-around development of children by giving them knowledge of human values, Bible principles, and computer skills. At the Center, children receive English language lessons, computer lessons, culture communication, etiquette, and Christian studies. Artem’s parents are really thankful that their children can go there and get the knowledge and principles, that are very important for their future.

Mercy Projects conducts a Child Sponsorship project in Ukraine to keep children at home with their mother or family members. Our goal is to keep children out of orphanages and home with family. Child Sponsorship supports the entire family and is the first step to bringing hope and health to these needy children.

Please, pray for this family, for parents, children and their health. For great-grandmother and peace in her mind. Sponsorship of Bogdan would be an encouragement and a blessing to this family.
